Why You Need a Travel Bucket List and My Travel Bucket List
I moved to the U.K to be able to travel more often and more affordably. I would go onto Skyscanner and use the ‘everywhere’ feature and I would choose somewhere depending on how cheap I could get a flight for. It enabled me to see many different countries and cities.
Now I am at the point where there are other places I really want to see but haven’t seen them yet because I am too busy going for the cheap deals then saving up and spending a bit more money going on a trip I really want to go on. I am thinking now if I continue to always go for a cheap deal, I am never going to be able to see all these places I really want to see.
This is why I have come to the conclusion that you need a bucket list and I don’t just mean a bucket list in your head. I mean a proper written or typed list of detailed things you would like to see and do in your lifetime! If yours is centred around travelling, like mine is, it’s a great way to remind yourself why you’re travelling to those destinations and what you’re travelling for. If you’re someone who hasn’t travelled to many countries, can’t decide where you want to go, you want to see lots of different countries and/or you want to explore the world on a budget then I definitely suggest going for the cheap deals like I did, because you will get to see so many places and it wont break the bank!
I am at a point where I feel like I am done with going to places because they are cheap. I really want to spend this time now to focus on places I really wanted to see. I have created a bucket list and now I am trying my best to focus on making these thing’s become a reality. These may be new ideas or things I have wanted to do since I was a kid! A great thing to do as well, is to write down the things you have already done and cross them off, so you can see how much you really have accomplished.
As much as I always preach about budget travel and how travel doesn’t have to cost loads of money. Don’t forget about your dreams and aspirations and those places you have always wanted to see or those things you have always wanted to do, maybe even since you were a child. You don’t need to deny yourself of certain experiences because they cost money. Save up and make them happen!
There are 2 ways you can think about it: Book a flight because it’s cheap and discover somewhere you never really had on your radar and have a great time OR have a bucket list item in mind and work towards it and make it happen! You will regret the things you didn’t do and not the things you did do!!
