I'm originally from Perth, Australia, but I’ve lived in the UK for almost 8 years-First Manchester, now in London. I currently work full-time and I try to travel as much as I can.
I first caught the travel bug in 2014 on my first big international trip to Europe with my best friend. It was one of the first times travelling as an adult (without parents). We were extremely naive, especially about travelling! European countries were worlds apart from what we were used to in little old Perth. One night, we went to McDonald's thinking we could avoid the language barriers by ordering on the self-serve computers, but we soon realised they yelled out the order numbers in French anyway! And we were also too scared to use the metro!
After this trip, I considered moving to the UK for a couple of reasons. At just 20 years old, I was unsure of what I wanted to do for a career (and my life). Although I worked for a great company, the job itself was monotonous, and I felt stuck. What I did know for sure was my desire to travel. Living in the UK seemed like the perfect opportunity. I'd be closer to Europe, allowing me to experience new cultures, meet new people, and explore new places a few times a year. It felt like the adventure I needed to break out of my rut!
I started making travel videos as I felt there weren’t enough solo female travellers creating real and relatable content. I wanted to show that you don't need a lot of money or quit a full-time job to travel often. Fast forward eight years, I still live in the UK and I have travelled to over 36 countries. My channel has over 900K views and 50k hours of watch time.
