The perfect little guide on everything you need to eat in Sicily! Sicilians are known for their delicious food and you cannot leave without trying these 6 delicious dishes!
WHAT TO EAT IN SICILY
Seafood
The seafood is amazing in any part of Italy, but Sicily especially in my opinion. Any sort of seafood pasta or even deep fried seafood served in a cone! Itβs all delicious!
Arancini
Arancini would have to be one of my favourite foods in Sicily. They have a crusty outer layer with rice and gooey tastiness inside. The classic Arancini is Ragu, but they have a few different flavours, like pistachio, butter, squid ink etc
Pasta Alla Norma
This dish is well known on the east side of the island. Itβs a combination of aubergine, tomato sauce and salted ricotta, served with tight curly pasta.
Caponata
There are about 10 different kinds of Caponata and every one has a different recipe using the vegetables that are available, but cooked aubergines are always at the base. Itβs pretty much a combination of warm veggies in a bowl. It doesnβt sound exciting but it really is delicious!
Cannoli
Crispy, crunchy cone filled with cream on the inside. Sometimes with fruit or nuts or other flavouringβs. A must have sweet in Sicily!
Pistachio
There is a town near Mt Etna called Bronte, which is meant have the best pistachios in the world. Make sure you try anything with pistachios - pizza, arancini, gelato, cannoli, pasta, croissants
